For more than five decades, the Department of Art and Design has educated artists and designers who impact, interpret and shape the visual world around us. Through exposure to all facets of the visual arts, the student develops a portfolio of work that will enable them to live and work as an artist, designer, historian, arts manager, or educator.

Students receive a comprehensive grounding in color theory, drawing, and two- and three-dimensional design. The department's BFA and BA curriculums expand on these offerings with a choice of majors and concentrations in animation/illustration, visual communication design, product design, fashion studies, art education and visual arts.
