Black Lives Matter in Research
This annual event brings together a community of researchers and ethics professionals into the discussion of Black Lives Matter and its intersectionality with research design and research methodologies. Within the greater context of racism there is a need for exploration of how researchers, research administration and human subject professionals can work together to address inclusivity, beneficence, exclusionary design, participation issues, representation and more.
Emerging Learning Design Conference
ELD conferences provide physical space for the ongoing discussion of how pedagogy, research, and scholarship can be enhanced and transformed by technology. The ELD Annual Conference is a space designed to showcase innovation as well as to engage in a vibrant and dynamic discourse.
Male Enrollment and Graduate Alliance (MEGA)
The Male Enrollment & Graduation Alliance (MEGA) is a national collective working to engage educators/administrators (Pre-K to 20+) nationwide to share best practices, develop enrollment partnerships/pipelines and sustainable networks for Black and Hispanic/Latino male success in education. The inaugural Male Enrollment & Graduation Alliance (MEGA) symposium at Montclair State University (NJ) will take place on Friday, March 3, 2022 from 9:30am-2:30pm.
Sigma Xi Student Research Symposium (2019)
The Sigma Xi Student Research Symposium is a forum that showcases and rewards outstanding student scholarship and research by students in the College of Science and Mathematics. The Symposium provides a venue for sharing research with the academic community, peers and the greater community through poster displays as well as oral and multimedia presentations.
This collection documents a spring 2022 meme-creation contest related to the prompt, “What Does America Meme to You?” as well an accompanying public discussion of how memes subvert traditional means of communication. The event was intended as a participatory analytical space where student prize winners, MSU faculty and staff, and the public collectively contextualize and reflect on the disruptive communicative force played by memes in the United States today.
The Montclair State University Annual Student Research Symposium is a forum that showcases and rewards outstanding student scholarship and research by students at Montclair State University. The Symposium provides a venue for sharing research with the academic community, peers and the greater community through poster displays as well as oral and multimedia presentations.
Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, the Symposium aims to promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration in the hope of instilling in our students the importance of exploring issues from multiple perspectives. Proposals that cross boundaries among disciplines are thus encouraged. Similar presentations will be grouped together in regards to their “theme” rather than discipline or college derivation.
