Input Substitution and Technical Change In U.S. High Tech Industries

Abstract
The paper shows that in U.S. high-tech industry sector, capital and non-production worker are complementary to each other. Capital and production worker, however, are substitutes. Also, technical change in the sector concerned is material using and capital and labor saving. The major saving is in production worker.
