Abstract
Librarians as change agents for open science Two of the core values of librarianship include access to information for library users and preservation of knowledge in all forms. Open science aligns with these values and others fundamental to the roles and services of libraries and librarians. With a pragmatic goal of accelerating research progress and advancing scholarship, open science also echoes the mission of the academic and research enterprise. By taking a leading role in open science at their institutions, librarians are harmoniously aligning themselves with their institutional strategies. In this year’s Hunter Forum, panelists will discuss current initiatives in enabling open science with collaborative tools and connected infrastructures. We will also look to the future at how the results of these efforts can be realized in a holistic way to benefit the research ecosystem.
