Abstract
This article presents data from four focus groups of assistive technology (AT) computer users to understand how individuals who are blind or visually impaired gather information about AT and the kinds of information needs that they may have. Qualitative findings are reported on what the focus group participants considered to be the benefits of and barriers to computer use. This article further underscores the importance of accessibility and usability as being helpful concepts for exploring the role of technology in people's lives.
