Abstract
This article investigates the similarity between Aristophanes' depiction of comedy and the play "Him," written by E. E. Cummings. There is a discussion of the relation between Cumming's plays and the comedies of Aristophanes, the goal of Cummings in his play, controversies surrounding the play, and remarks from Cumming's supporters.
