Abstract
We conducted hierarchical regression to determine the relationships between religiosity, spirituality, and frequency and impact of affirming and non-affirming religious and/or spiritual (R/S)-oriented messages toward queer communities on allyship and activism. We observed a minimal relationship between religiosity and spirituality and allyship and activism and a significant positive association between the frequency of queer-affirming and non-affirming R/S-oriented messaging and allyship and activism. Our findings inform implications for facilitating allyship and activism within counseling.
