Abstract
My research question will revolve around the idea that strange and unusual weather events, specifically hurricanes, have been on the rise over the past 30 years. I look to draw the connection that this increase of extraordinary events is directly linked and caused by global climate change. My methods of studying this will include a survey of hurricane data the southeastern portion of the United States, where Hurricanes are the most prevalent. I will also study the increase in major superstorms in the area over the last 30 years. I will look at frequency, intensity, and the extent of the damage these hurricanes cause. I will then research climate change and the increase in global temperatures in the oceans and on land in the area. I hope to conclude that these major events are on the rise and a direct result of climate change. No broader implications will be necessary of my findings
