Description
In this paper I will discuss how Julius Caesar transformed Rome from a republic to an empire. I will discuss the choices that he made that created the major shifts, the turning point to where the empire originated and what was done to form an empire that would span across territories. I will also show in detail how Caesar gained power through ambitious political reforms, conquered territory to expand the empire, and what he did in the process that would set the tone for what would change into the construct of governed rule today. I would also like to show how there were numerous key points to what Caesar did in his reforms as far as creating a civil service, and granting foreigners citizenship within the Roman republic.Julius Caesar also built two major city states, Carthage and Corinth, which would in turn help his growing agricultural industries to supply food for the empire. I will explain how one man would take what has been started by previous consuls selected by Roman citizens and create an empire that would create civil war, rebirth, agricultural planning and execution, currency, democracy and a balance in power, and finally how the changes and guidelines were executed by Julius Caesar ,would shape the way we use government and democracy today.
