Description

It is important for towns and their citizens to be aware of the importance of waste management and recycling. The goal of the research is to discover what methods are the most effective ways of communicating waste and recycling to Montclair Township, based on best practices. In doing so, digital signage for the purpose of education will be developed to present to the schools in town, at town meetings, and other public venues as well as applicable to web pages. Any other media developed will also be included. In addition to research about waste management and recycling in other municipalities, a pilot project will be run in order to test the methods discovered. A test audience of students from Montclair State University will be presented with the curriculum in a way that it would be distributed to the town members, and they will then give a rating on how effective they feel the information was relayed to them.
