Technology is advancing and evolving more rapidly than ever before and the hospitality industry is changing with it. One of the newer technologies being introduced in the industry is service robots. Through a systematic literature review, this paper will explore the utilization, effects, and implications of service robots in hospitality work settings. The various research studies found that service robots are apt to take over supply chain management tasks such as booking and checking in but are still unable to fully replace the human quality needed in these environments. Humans bring an empathetic and emotional factor that is important to the service industry and the artificial intelligence in these robots is not at a point where they can completely replace humans. However, they can optimize operations and improve efficiency by taking over human tasks that are more simple and standardized. Technology will continue to advance and service robots will continue to improve and become more capable, changing the hospitality industry as a whole.
