Peter Shea has taught philosophy courses at public and private colleges and elementary schools since the 1970s. He was involved in various grant projects to bring philosophy to elementary schools, including a nine-year project in one of the poorest neighborhoods in St. Paul, Minnesota. He created The Bat of Minerva, a regional cable television program of video life-history interviews, produced cooperatively with the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Minnesota, which archives his interviews at (“Bat of Minerva” collection). Shea is the Chief Editor of the curriculum series Thinking in Stories: Reviewing Philosophy in Children’s Literature for the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children at Montclair State University.
