Abstract
The motivation for this book, Research Handbook on Information Systems and Technology, is to undergo a paradigm shift in information systems and technology (IS&T) in developing intelligent systems, smart technologies, automated computations, and digital transformations for industrial applications. It utilizes technological aspects such as blockchain, agile software, cloud computing, big data analytics, natural language processing, web mining, deep learning, machine learning, soft computing, data mining, and data science, to name a selected few. IS&T-based systems can help comprehend how they impact humans and are shaped by exemplified and simulated systems. The book is organized into 13 chapters including the roles of information systems that utilize contemporary technologies to build applications such as education, healthcare, finance, e-commerce, etc. A brief description of each chapter is given in this chapter. The book directs the reader towards potential futuristic solutions that can be impactful for forthcoming smart agriculture, skilled employability, sustainability across globalization, and accountable and ethical usage of IS&T research.
