Description

Within the past 5 years, the use of food delivery service apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash have grown significantly. The COVID-19 pandemic introduced consumers to the simplicity and convenience of these services, which has become the new norm in many consumers’ lives. With usage rates steadily increasing, it is imperative to explore the environmental impact that they may have. I plan to collect several types of data including company revenue and usage statistics, surveys, air quality, take-out rates, most commonly ordered foods and their packaging, and more from 2017 to now. With the use of visual aids, I will compare the findings to recognize what environmental changes have taken place and investigate possible similarities or correlations between the increase of food delivery and environmental changes.
