Seeing What Takes Place (SWTP) is an interdisciplinary project based at Montclair State University aiming to create a series of immersive, interactive experiences of religious rituals. The project began in 2022 when Project Director Dr. John Soboslai (Religion) received a Digital Humanities Advancement Grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities to bring scholars of religion together with digital humanists and immersive media creators (see Team) to discuss the promises and perils of such an undertaking.
