Abstract
This article questions the status of "at home" photography of the late nineteenth century by analyzing pictures commissioned by residents who inhabited the same apartment (8, rue Franklin in Paris) at different times: Count Robert de Montesquiou-Fezensac (from 1888 à 1894) and Georges Clemenceau (from 1896 until his death). How did these two figures choose to position themselves privately and publicly by commissioning photographs for private use or by pairing them with at home interviews with reporters?
